306,947. Soc. L'Air Liquide, Soc. Anon. pour I'Etude et l'Exploitation des ProcÚdÚs G. Claude, (Assignees of Soc. Chimique de la Grande Paroisse Azote et Produits Chimiques). Feb. 29, 1928, [Convention date]. Purifier waste, revivifying. - In regenerating carbonated ammoniacal solutions by first heating crude liquor by means of regenerated solution to a temperature below that required to free carbon dioxide, and then to a higher temperature, the regenerated solution is heated immediately after regeneration and is brought in counter-current into indirect contact with the crude solution. The carbonated solution heated to about 65‹ C. by the regenerated solution in a heat exchanger D enters at G a rectification column A. Imperforate steam pipes I heat the regenerated solution, which is raised by a pump C through double-bottomed plates B in the column to heat indirectly the descending solution and then passes by pipes K, L to be cooled in the heat exchanger. Vapours, including carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide, rising above the inlet G are washed by cold untreated liquor added at N and further cooled by water circulated through pipes 0, P. Carbon dioxide liberated at R may be used to combine with any free ammonia in an untreated solution.
