Pile or nap, raising and dressing.-In a rotary body carrying a number of planetary elements, e.g. the cylinder of a napping or teazling machine, the centre of gravity of each planetary element b is brought to the middle of its length by pairs of eccentric masses d on its journals, the masses being angularly adjusted for rotary balance and then fixed. The masses d are so chosen that opposite elements b with their attached masses balance each other. The masses may be of different thicknesses and made of materials of different specific gravities.
