Plants, treatment of growing; germinating a n d propagating appliances.-A process for the cultivation of the Yucca plant consists in placing the seeds upon ridges on the bottom of a glass dish e containing water up to the top of the ridges, covering the dish with a glass cover g, and subsequently transplanting the plants produced by the germination of the seeds into ridges or hills in the open ground. Glass tubes f may be used to form the ridges in the dish e. The germination takes place at a temperature of 18 to 25‹ C. under the action of electric or other light rays. The young plants are transferred from the glass dish to soil in clay dishes where they grow for about five months before being transplanted into ridges, banks, or like in the open. The height of these ridges &c. may be from 60 to 100 cm., and the distance between their centres from 150 to 200 cm.
