Coal-cutting machines ; channelling- apparatus; endless-chain machines.- A mining-machine of the endless-chain type has circular saws S attached to opposite ends of the spindle of the forward chain sprocket, the diameter of the saws being greater than the width of the jib. The saws are secured by members C, which enter the sprocket spindle and are threaded together and then locked by a soft-metal rivet R. Projections on the spindle engage slots P in the saws to form a driving connection. An oil well O is provided and is closed bv a. screw G. The saws may have opposed sets of teeth for cutting in either direction, or may have borts embedded therein. Specification 331,355 is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
