Aug. 22, 1929 Manures.-A solid manuring product consisting of ammonium sulphate, sulphite, imido-sulphonate, and other compounds of ammonium and sulphur, is obtained by mixing the gases obtained by roasting crude sulphur or spent oxide from gas and coke manufacturing plants with the ammonia-containing gases obtained by heating the gas-water from the scrubbers and subjecting the mixture to a. high tension current at 70,000 to 80,000 volts. The product may be electrically precipitated and re-crystallized.
