[Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv).] Stamping.-A metal can A for ice, especially of stainless steel, is formed to tapered rectangular shape merging into an oval a1 at its narrow end by forcing a wedge C between the shaped halves B of a mandrel inserted into the conical tube A formed by preliminarily bending and welding the edges of a metal sheet. The bottom of the can is closed by electrically welding a flanged plate F into it and the top is strengthened by an electrically welded band D and flange E. Specification 21180/05, [Class 83, Metals, Cutting &c.], is referred to.
