[Class 7 (ii).] To prevent leakage from or into the crank chambers, particularly in twostroke engines, strips 17 of rubber or other packing, material are received in recesses 16 formed at the joint between the upper and lower half of the crank casing. The strips are held in place by long bars 18 secured by bolts and straps 19. Two strips may be used on each side. The strips may extend into gaps formed in the end plates of the crank case.
