摘要
345,500. Coin-freed apparatus. COLEMAN, W. G., 4, Dowling Street, Dunedin, New Zealand. March 27, 1930, No. 9830. Convention date, April 17, 1929. [Class 27.] Testing coins.-In order to prevent the insertion in coin-freed machines of broken glass, wire, and articles other than coins of the required diameter and thickness, a protective device is mounted over the coin-slot, the device comprising a baseplate 1, Fig. 4, having a coin slot 2 and a forwardly projecting formation 3, which is provided with a flanged coin-entrance 4 and a pair of levers 9, 10, pivoted at 11, 12. The lower ends of the levers pass through oblique slots 15, 16, Fig. 2, in a,plate 6, which is held against the baseplate 1 by the bent-over ends 18, 19 of the levers. When a coin is inserted, it engages projections 21, 22 to move the levers apart against the action of a spring 20, the movement of the levers in the oblique slots causing the plate 6 to slide transversely across the slot 2 and bring a slot 7 therein into register with the slot 2.
