346,878. Toys ; advertising devices. DEICHMANN, A., Godesburg-on-Rhine, Germany. Jan. 30, 1930, No. 3200. Convention date, Dec. 7, 1929. [Class 132 (iii).] The head of a miniature figure for use as a toy or as an advertising device is provided with a slot in which a pair of pieces representing the nose and the chin can be interchangeably inserted and adjusted to produce a variety of facial expressions. The joints of the figure may be such as to allow the various parts of the figure to be adjustably positioned in relation to each other. The head is made from two flat wooden pieces 1 between which are inserted a nose section 2 and a chin section 3. By means of a peg 6 the head is rotatably mounted on the upper portion 7 of the body, to which are also attached shoulder parts 8, 9 rotatably carrying arms 10, 11. These last carry forearms 14, 15 having cylindrical "fists" 16, 17 provided with holes in which tools 17a may be removably inserted. The body 7 is attached to parts 19, 20 by a joint 18 allowing movement around two axes at right-angles, the said parts 19, 20 having holes 21, 22 in which legs 23, 24 may be placed to give various attitudes to the figure. A system of holes and pegs may be used instead of the joint 18. The various joints may be lined with a friction-increasing material.
