[Class 142 (iv).] A woven elastic fabric resembling a knitted fabric has cotton or artificial silk twist or loop or crossing warp threads c crossing uniformly and all in the same direction over rubber warp threads a, and weft threads b1 . . b4 interweaving with the warp threads as shown. In the finished fabric, the crossing threads appear to wind round the upper weft threads. The rubber warp threads are not woven in under considerable tension. Near the edges, and elsewhere if desired, additional rubber threads are introduced in strips to cover the ordinary rubber threads and pass over all the weft threads but under the crossing warp threads c.
