369,578. Valve circuits. MACKENZIE, W. B., SMITH, H., and HILL, E. G., H.M. Signal School, Royal Naval Barracks, Portsmouth. Dec. 20, 1930, No. 38476. [Class 40 (v).] A gas discharge device such as a neon tube C is interposed between the plate of one valve A and the grid of a succeeding valve B. The first valve may have a resistance in its plate circuit, and the second a resistance K and bias battery L in its grid circuit. The tube C may be normally glowing or may be brought to the discharge point by the input impulse to the first valve. A relay for controlling any suitable apparatus may be connected in the plate circuit of the second valve. The valves may also be employed as a rectifier or as an amplifier for currents of any frequency. When used in an apparatus such as is described in Specification 353,438, the use of a high-speed interrupter is avoided.
