[Class 97 (ii).] A spirit level is enclosed in a casing mounted on a cantilever arm, adjustable in relation to an anchoring member by two parallel screws which engage the free end of the cantilever to facilitate locking in the adjusted position. In the form shown, the level B is mounted by cement within a casing A, the latter being attached at rightangles to an arm C which is secured at one end by rivets E, F to an anchoring member D. The free end of the arm C is tapped to receive hemispherical headed screws G, H. The anchoring member D is drilled to receive the heads of the screws G, H, on opposite sides thereof. Alternatively both screws may engage the member D from the same side, one screw then having a left-handed thread.
