摘要
Cellulose esters or ethers, dyeing; printing; azo dyes, forming on the material.--Pattern effects are obtained on textile materials, films, plastics and the like made from cellulose esters or ethers or containing such in admixture with cotton, regenerated cellulose, wool, silk or other materials by applying in a pattern a reagent, colouring matter or pigment having little or no affinity for the cellulose ester or ether and applying locally a solvent or swelling agent for the cellulose ester or ether to fix, or to increase the fixation of, the reagent colouring matter or pigment in parts only of the pattern. The applications of the reagent, colouring matter or pigment and of the solvent or swelling agent may be effected in either order. The solvents used may be those specified in Specification 376,797. The reagent may be a mordant or a dye component, such as an azo dye coupling component, in which case fixation by the solvent or swelling agent is followed by treatment with a suitable mordant dyestuff or with a suitable diazo compound. Delustred effects on lustred grounds or lustred effects on delustred grounds are obtainable, e.g. when pigments producing a matt effect are employed. Specified colouring matters having little or no affinity for cellulose esters or ethers are (a) the acid or direct cotton dyes Chlorazol sky blue FF, Chlorazol fast red K, Formyl violet 5BN, Chromazurine E, Cupranil brown B, Alkali blue, Metanil yellow, Milling red G, Cloth fast red B, Polar brilliant red B conc., Benzyl green B, Palatine black B, Cyanol FFG, Milling orange, Orange II, Neolan orange R, Acid wool blue N, Amacid fast light yellow 2G, Wool fast blue BL, Sulphoflavine brilliant FF, Alkali blue 4B, Acid violet 5BE, Sulpho green J80, Tartrazine, Cloth red B, Chloramine black E2B, Chloramine black ER extra, Modern black N, Chrysophenine, Chrysophenine direct J, Diamine fast scarlet 2B, (b) Palatine orange, (c) Full brilliant green NB, (d) the basic dyes Chromacetine blue S, Rhoduline blue 6G, Benzyl violet, Induline, Acridine orange, Acridine red PS, Rhodamine B, Rhoduline yellow 6G, Auramine OO, Fuchsine, Capri blue GON, Rhodamine 6G, Setocyanine, Acridine brown, Acridine orange brilliant ES. Specified pigments are Prussian blue, Chrome yellow, Titanox (registered Trade Mark), Antimony white, Lithopone, Zinc white, Blanc fixe, Ultramarine. The materials may additionally be coloured all over at any suitable stage or colouring matters may additionally be incorporated in one or more of the preparations applied locally. The following examples are specified. (1) A cellulose acetate fabric is printed with one of the above acid dyestuffs, dried, immediately over-printed with a composition containing colloresine, thiodiglycol and ethyl lactate, dried at 70 DEG C. to vaporize the ethyl lactate, and washed, first in cold water and then in water at 50 DEG C. (2) A cellulose acetate fabric which has been delustred by boiling in dilute soap solution is printed in a fine pattern with an aqueous composition containing Alkali blue 6B and a thickening, dried, over-printed in a bold design with an aqueous composition containing thiodiglycol, ethyl lactate and gum arabic, dried at 70 DEG C. to vaporize the ethyl lactate and washed to obtain a lustrous blue design on a white ground which is delustred except in the over-printed areas.
