Fine ores, blast-furnace dust, &c. are briquetted with gas coal of very great fineness, with or without binding agents, and with or without the addition of other materials such as chalk, and the briquettes are coked. During coking the briquettes may be embedded in small coke or other finely ground heat-resistant material. Specification 148,115, [Class 82 (i), Metals, Extracting &c.], is referred to.
