[Class 99 (i).] A rubber &c. tube 5 having a flanged or beaded end 5a is jointed to a valve body or coupling member 2 by a union nut 4 which screws onto the said member 2 and is adapted to press the face of the flange or bead against a jointing face 8 thereon. The member 2 is provided with a spigot 1 which supports the end of the tube, and a continuous or split non-yielding ring 3 may be disposed between the bead and a tapered collar or shoulder 6 on the union nut. The outer end of the union nut is provided with an outwardly flared part 7, preferably terminating in a bell-mouthed end 7a, and the tube end may be reinforced by a woven wire or canvas insertion.
