[Class 97 (i).] A screen for use in theatres, cinemas and the like is formed as a continuous sheet divided into a plurality of sections, one section of which may constitute a kinematograph screen, whilst the remaining sections bear scenic effects thereon. As shown, the screen 8, which comprises a projection screen, interior scenery, and exterior scenery, is mounted on rollers carried on rods 6, 18 mounted in brackets 5, 20. Each bracket 5 has right-angled extensions forming bearings for a driving shaft 10 driven through bevel wheels 13 by an electric motor 11 supported on a bracket 12. The shaft 10 drives pinions 14 on the rod 6, which carries at each end a sprocket wheel 15 carrying a chain 16 passing down through vertical members 1 to another sprocket wheel 17 mounted on a rod 18. The brackets 20 have extensions 21 to which is secured a platform having wheels 23 engaging rails 24 to permit the apparatus to be moved over the stage 25.
