[Class 136 (i).] A pair of leg-shields A of leather or waterproof fabric are detachably connected at the top to a bracket or clip secured to the cycle head or to a part adjacent thereto, and are detachably secured at their lower portions to a downwardly-extending leg F attached to the down tube D of the cycle frame, as by means of a clip E, to which the leg may be pivoted to permit it to be folded into an inoperative position against the tube D, a wing-nut e enabling the leg to be clamped in either position. The leg consists of two strips f spaced apart at the top by the clip and at the bottom by a bridge-piece f2 . A strip a4 on each shield A is provided with an eye a3 to fit on the lower end of one of the strips f1. A foldable arm f pivoted to each strip f is adapted to engage a pocket a5 on each shield. Near the upper end of each shield A is a transverse pocket to receive a bar having a down-turned inner end which is adapted to be clamped, as by a wing- nut, in a recess in the bracket or clip secured to the cycle head.
