[Class 44.] A clip for holding books, newspapers and other articles to a suit-case or the like consists of a plate with upper and lower portions a, b and an intermediate curved portion c. Multiple jointed hinges, each having four leaves e, f, g, h, have the leaves h attached to the part b by screws, and the leaves e attached to the suitcase by screws m secured by thumb nuts n. The hinge pins k1 are encircled by helical springs, and the parts a, b are displaced relatively to enable the part a to bear against the surface of the suit-case. A stick or umbrella may be carried in the curved portion c, and books or papers between the part a and the supporting surface.
