[Class 138 (i).] Apparatus for sterilizing bottles, dairy utensils, and like vessels comprises a metal container a the bottom of which is provided with an aperture a2 adapted to register with the upper part of a metal water boiler c so that steam can pass readily into the container. Bottles to be sterilized are placed in metal crates or in shelves in the container. Steam is allowed to escape through outlets a3 over which may be placed buckets e to be sterilized. A grid d may be provided near the floor of the container. Instead of a metal water boiler, a household boiler mounted in a brick structure may be utilized, in which case the legs b may be dispensed with, the container being supported by the structure.
