The supporting rolls d for the lower rollers are grouped in longitudinal rows mounted in yokes e adjusted by worm gearing g from a shaft o. Clutches i allow of independent adjustment of each of the longitudinal rows of rolls d. Each longitudinal row may be mounted on a plurality of yokes to subdivide the adjustment of a row. In a modification, the screw f effecting the adjustment is pivoted to the ends of adjacent rolls in a transverse row to allow of tilting adjacent supporting rolls.
