[Class 18] A packing - case for cotton or other piece goods comprises framed or other wooden end pieces 2, a lining 4 of thin waterproof material wrapped about these end pieces 2, reinforcing wooden boards 5, 7 forming sides and top and bottom, and a stout waterproof wrapping 8. The wrapping 8 and the boards 5, 7 are, as shown in Fig. 4, nailed to the wooden end pieces 2. A waterproof lining 6 is applied to the inside of each end piece 2. The linings 4, 6 may be made of material comprising two kraft papers united by a thin layer of tar.
