[Class 93] [See also Groups VII, XVII, and XXV] An attachment for purses, handbags, gloves, &c. comprises a one-piece cap made of celluloid, synthetic resin, or other non- metallic material and carrying an initial, design, or identification mark, the cap being surrounded by a flange or rim adapted to be sprung over the edge of a button or like member on the article. A cap 1 made of coloured celluloid and bearing an initial 2 is formed with an inturned flange provided with semicircular notches 7 dividing the flange into three equal resilient segments 8 whereby the cap may be sprung over a metal button 3 forming part of an eyelet 6 attached to the closure flap 4 of a purse. The cap is made by pressing a circular blank in a heated mould, grooves to form the initial 2 and a circle 9 being formed at the same time and being subsequently filled with coloured enamel. Alternatively, the initial may be raised up from the cap, printed thereon, or cut out thereof. Slits may be formed in place of notches, or, in a modification, the cap may be made of thin material so as to spring over the button without the aid of notches or slits.
