434,041. Delivering measured quantities of liquid. BEAVER, C. J., Bell Place, Stamford Road, FAIRFIELD, T. J., Newlands, Talbot Road, both in Bowdon, Cheshire, and GLOVER & CO., Ltd., W. T., Trafford Park, Manchester. June 2, 1934, No. 16449. [Class 135] [See also Group XXII] The supply of hot liquid from a vessel to a second relatively movable vessel is initiated by means actuated by the relative movement, and is cut off when a predetermined quantity has been delivered by a device responsive to the temperature of the liquid. Molten metal is delivered from a chamber f through a valve g and channel h to the vertically movable vessel d of an extrusion press such as described in Specification 394,427, [Group XXII]. The valve g is opened by a thrustor comprising a motor m and a centrifugal pump and piston device, the motor being energized from mains l. A switch n is closed to open the valve g when a projection s movable with the container a and vessel d strikes an arm q1. A thermometer bulb v in the upper part of the vessel d communicates through a capillary tube u with a Bourdon tube t to rock a switch p, when a predetermined quantity of metal has been delivered, to open the circuit to the motor m and close the valve g. On the return of the vessel d, the switch n is opened by an arm q2 before the switch p again closes. Warning lights x, y, z indicate successive stages in the operation.
