[Class 146 (i)] A binder for holding loose folded sheets or book sections has metal frames 6, 61, Fig. 1, secured thereto near the ends of the back 2, to receive the hooked ends 17 of fold-engaging rods 16, the ends of the rods being situated on the parts 12, Fig. 2, of the frames when in use and being slid on to the parts 11 when not required for use. The back is recessed along one side 4 and is provided with grooves 5 near its ends to receive the rods on the parts 11 and their hooked ends respectively. A fibre strip 25 secured to the side 3 of the back extends across the recessed part 4 so as to prevent rubbing between the backs of the sheets and the rods on the frame parts 11. A clamping- member is slidably mounted on the frames 6, 61 and comprises a U-shaped strip 18, with a foot 19 to prevent rotary movement, mounted on a rod 21 having one end 23 squared to fit slidably between the parts 8, 12 of the frame 61 and the other end threaded so as to be engaged by a securing nut 24. A cover-board 26, with a folded part fitting around the rod 21 so as to be adjustable with the clamping-member, prevents crumpling of the sheets and keeps them clean.
