[Class 72] In an annealing-pot b provided with a hollow lid c, a pipe d for accommodating an electric heating body e extends into the body of the pot and is secured, e.g. welded, in the bottom of the lid c in a gas-tight manner, the pipe being closed at the bottom and open at the top. A thermo-regulating device f is also arranged in the heating body e. The pot b is suspended within the furnace a which may be heated by burners g or electrically. After the annealing operation, the pot b is withdrawn from the furnace and the heating body withdrawn from the pipe d which is then open to the air, the cooling of the material h in the pot being thus accelerated.
