The process described in the parent Specification is applied to the removal of one or more elements capable of reacting with an alkali or alkaline earth metal, and no one of which elements is antimony, from alloys thereof with lead or tin or lead and tin. The element may be arsenic. Tin may be separated from the slag by the process described in Specification 469,519.
