[Class 104 (i)] In electric point-operating mechanism of the kind comprising a pair of solenoids enclosed with lever transmitting mechanism in a ground box, the coils 4 and mechanism 9-12 are mounted on the lid 3 of the box to facilitate removal. The main transmission shaft 12 may be provided with a mercury seal 18, 19 where it leaves the lid, and an annular surface joint outside the seal to prevent spilling. The lid 3 may carry an auxiliary lid 21 to give access to the electric leads of the coils, and an outer cover 25 may be provided to enclose the inner one.
