[Class 2 (iii)] [Also in Group III] Lead trinitro-resorcinate is obtained by reacting equivalent quantities of solutions of sodium or magnesium trinitro-resorcinate and lead nitrate, the reaction mixture flowing downwards continuously in countercurrent to a stream of air. The reacting solutions may be supplied continuously to a vessel 3 by pipes 1, 2 and the mixture passes through a column 4 against a current of air supplied through a nozzle 6 from a pipe 5. A second nozzle 7 supplies a current of air which prevents obstruction of the outlet 8.
