Signalling apparatus for night landing of aircraft carrying landing lights

[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Oct. 23, 1937.] [Class 3 (ii)] Reflecting signs particularly for facilitating night landing of aeroplanes fitted with head lights comprise frameworks 3 supporting pivoted removable sections 7 each composed of a number of pivotally mounted slips 10 carrying reflecting elements. The framework may be wheeled as shown and the sections may be dismounted and separately supported on the landing ground to form guide lines. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also includes the following : the reflecting frames may be disposed on the ground in various formations with a view to facilitating landing. A frame may be in sections one of which is hinged and the others are dismountable so as to convert the frame into a T as viewed by the pilot. The reflectors may be mounted on rubber or other supports adapted to be fixed in the ground, to float on water, or to be moored to the sea bottom. The reflectors may be supplemented by lamps. Fig. 28 (Cancelled) shows a form of reflector unit consisting of a lens 35 to which is secured a mirror 36. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
