[Class 87 (ii)] A plunger or other reciprocated part of a mould is covered over the whole of its operative face with indiarubber for producing a plane or patterned surface on the material being moulded. The rubber may be applied to the plunger, either directly or through the intermediary of a sustainer-piece, and may be secured to the plunger by screws, interengaging dovetailed parts, or by vulcanization. In the form shown for producing a plane surface on an article, the rubber facing c is vulcanized to a sustainer piece a having projections a1 for interengagement with complementary parts on the plunger.
