[Class 64 (ii)] [Also in Group III] Relates to the production of a loose crystalline product consisting of magnesium and calcium carbonates, and suitable for heat insulating purposes. The product is obtained by burning dolomite, forming an aqueous suspension of the burnt dolomite having an oxide content of not more than 8 per cent, treating it with carbon dioxide at a temperature of at least 75‹ C., preferably 90‹ C. until neutral to phenol-phthalein, separating the solid, drying and powdering it.
