摘要
515,287. Respiratory appliances. DRAGER, O. H. June 15, 1938, No. 17794. Convention date, June 15, 1937. [Class 81 (ii)] A cartridge adapted for insertion in and removal from a closed circuit respiratory appliance for absorbing carbon dioxide - from the air in circuit is filled with readily hydrolysable compounds in granular form of alkali or alkalineearth metals with acids which are weaker than carbonic acid. Fillings of bauxite or waterglass are specifically excluded, but aluminates, zincates, ferrates, or silicates other than waterglass may be used. The granules may contain small additions of copper oxide or of a heavy metal oxide of the seventh or eighth groups of the periodic table, such as iron or manganese oxide. Free alkali may be present, and this may be obtained by forming the aluminate &c. from the corresponding oxide and alkali using excess of the latter; alterpatively, the granules may be admixed with alkali hydroxides or soda-lime, or be arranged in layers alternating with lavers of these substances. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, does not exclude the use of bauxite or waterglass.
