[Class 145 (ii)] [Also in Group XI] In gluing thick-walled workpieces, such as planks for the production of I beams, by means of hot-setting glues such as synthetic resin, an electric conductor is arranged in the glue and is heated by current passed therethrough or induced therein. The conductor may be a wire coil, wire gauze, a perforated plate, or a band with prongs or the like which are pressed into the jointed surfaces. The cross-section of the conductor may be varied to vary the heating effect. The surfaces of the workpieces may be recessed, dove-tailed, or roughened. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 386,826, [Group V], and Austrian Specification 147,452.
