[Class 21] A tank for storing fuel, lubricant or other liquid for use with internal combustion engines such as those used with heavy road vehicles, large stationary engines or aeroplanes, is provided with a filling opening b and an inspection opening c serving to render visible the level of the liquid and to provide an outlet for air during filling, both being opened and closed simultaneously. Openings b, c are provided with metal or other surrounding necks the upper ends of which are turned over or provided with collars h, h1, to take metal sealing caps j, j1 connected by a crossbar n controlled by a spring q. Leather and metal washers k, k1, m, m1 are provided in the caps to which they are secured by bolts o, o' and nuts p, p1, the bolts having axial apertures so that the interior of the tank communicates with the atmosphere, The caps, connected by the tiebar n, may also be secured in position by the lever and link mechanism shown in Fig. 4.
