[Class 115] A gravity davit comprises two arm members 15, 17 pivotally connected with each other at 19, the lower member 15 being pivoted inboard at 2, and the second member 17 consisting of an outwardly curved boat-carrying portion and a heel support for the boat forming a projection which engages the deck 3 to limit the swing, of the davit about the axis 2 and to form a second pivot 22 about which the member 17 can swing. Two modified constructions of the members 15, 17 are described and illustrated in the Specification. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also (i) a single armed inboard-pivoted davit, (ii) a two-armed davit in which the heel-supporting projection engages a fixed upright providing the second pivot, and (iii) a single armed davit which carries a shoe at its base wheel which is so shaped as to be capable of rolling on a rail and providing successive pivots for the arm by rolling contact. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
