[Class 55 (i)] [Also in Group XIII] The temperature of a filter 4 used with a gas generator 1 is controlled by a thermostatic valve 9 in a tube 7 which acts as a byepass for a cooler 3. The valve is secured to a rod 10 supported on two parallel rods 11, 12 pivoted to a casing 15, and a bimetallic strip 13 controls longitudinal displacement of the rod 10. The outer end of the strip ds forked to engage a restricted part of the rod; the inner end is held in a slotted axle 14 which, may be rotated for the purpose of regulation. By maintaining the temperature of the filter, the condensation of water vapour on its walls, and the adherence of dust is prevented.
