[Class 20 (iii)] A glazing unit suitable for effecting replacement of glass in windows or roof-lights comprises a sheet 10 of glass substitute secured in a metal frame having side clamping members 11, 12 engaging opposite side margins of the sheet 10, and cross-bars 13, 14 engaging the top and bottom edges of the sheet and secured to the clamping members by rivets 15. The inner edge of each cross-bar is bent to form a flange 17, the ends of the flanges being cut away at 18 to allow the sides of the unit to lie flat on the glazing bars. The sheet 10 may comprise two films of transparent or translucent material between which is sandwiched a layer of wire mesh or fabric net, the films being struck together, or the sheet may be formed from a film of synthetic resin or rubber latex with the fabric net embedded in it.
