[Class 60] A metal scouring-machine as in Specification 336,543, [Class 60], is provided with means for directing jets of air longitudinally at spaced points along the chamber. The chamber comprises upper and lower members 11, 12, having undulating facing surfaces 18, 19, the blast being directed from the nozzle 34 along the channel through which the wire &c. is led. The additional jets are supplied from openings 32, which may be furnished in either or both members 11, 12, and are supplied by pipes 31 from a main. The members 11, 12 are clamped together by hinged members 23 bearing on members 25 forming chambers to which the air is supplied and from which the openings 32 lead.
