[Class 117] Rivets are sorted according to the diameter of the stem, by means of a disc 13 rotating on a horizontal axis and notched on its periphery at 14, which picks up the rivets from a shoot 12, carries them round under a guard plate 16, and presents them successively to slots 18, 19, 20 of graded width. In a modification, for sorting the rivets according to length of stem, the carrier disc is horizontal and works over a stationary disc with graded slots, Fig. 2 (not shown). The rivets may be fed to the shoot 12 by a device as described in Specification 566,615, and the grading slots may lead to further sorting apparatus as described in Specification 565,844, [Group XIX].
