[Class 68 (i)] A cutter-chain for a mining-machine comprises links formed of two side-pieces B each provided with a lug 1, the side-pieces and an intermediate distance-piece C being held together by rivets 10 ; a rectangular key-piece D is let into the distance-piece and welded thereto, the key-piece having machined arcuate parts 5 with teeth 6 adapted to engage similar teeth on an angularly adjustable cylindrical pick holder E provided with a saw-cut 9, a transverse rectangular hole 8 for the pick F, and an axial bore adapted to receive a bolt H by which the parts are held. The key-piece D has a rectangular opening 4 allowing adjustment of the tail-piece of the pick. The Provisional Specification states that the pick holder may have trunnion extensions engaging apertures in the lugs 1.
