[Class 97 (iii)] A right angle plate 2 is provided, on one face, with ball contacts one of which, 4, is placed at the right angle corner and others, 4a, at known and equal distances therefrom. Projecting above the other face of the plate are locating strips 3 which preferably lie along the edges of the right angle but may be made adjustable to other positions by means of the removable pins 5 and locking screws 6 co-operating with the slots 7 or 7a. The strips 3 serve to locate the gauges on the face of the work, whereupon the positions of the balls may be determined to ascertain the angular position of the face.
