[Class 125 (ii)] In filling, stoppering and capsuling machines in which the bottles are given an ascending motion towards the filling spouts or stoppering or capsuling heads, the platform carrying the bottle is mounted on the lower end of one arm of an inverted U-shaped member, the other arm forming a sliding guide which is arranged outside the field in which the circulatory and translational movements of the bottles take place. The bottle-carrying platform 2 is mounted on the depending arm 3 of the U-shaped member, the other arm 4 of which slides in a bearing 7 and sleeve 8, being prevented from rotation by a pin 11 working in a groove 12. The pin 11 carries a roller 10 which follows a cam track 9. Either the arm 4, as shown in Fig. 1, or the arm 3, as in Fig. 2 may pass through a shoulder in a substantially vertical partition 5, which serves to keep any spilt liquid from the moving parts and deflects it down the skirt 13 into the collecting trough 14.
