Improvements in and relating to the hydraulic system for stowing and unstowing the suction pipe of a suction dredger

[Class 113 (ii)] In a suction dredger an hydraulic system of the kind comprising a pair of hydraulic cylinders a, aSP1/SP for raising and lowering the pipe and a pair d, dSP1/SP for traversing the pipe, means are provided whereby pressure fluid can be supplied to the traversing cylinders only when the pipe has been raised at least to such extent that when it is traversed it will clear the cradles. Said means comprise valves k, l, actuated from the lifting cylinders a and aSP1/SP respectively to permit pressure fluid to flow to locking cylinders i, iSP1/SP to withdraw locking pins g so that operating levers f, fSP1/SP may be moved, these levers being connected to valves e, eSP1/SP controlling the admission of fluid to the traversing cylinders. A mechanical interlock device is provided whereby the pressure fluid cannot be simultaneously admitted to the raising and lowering cylinders and the traversing cylinders.
