[Class 89 (i)] Nuts are provided on the bearing face with a projecting bevelled ridge A adjacent the bore and divided into segments by slots B. On screwing up the nut the metal of the ridge is forced between the threads of the nut and bolt. There may be a ridge on both faces if the nut is to be used with a lock nut.
