[Class 81(ii)] A finger splint, primarily for holding the distal phalanx in the hyperextended position in cases where the breakage of the bone has resulted in detachment of the entensor tendon, comprises a frame extending along each side of the finger and two adjustable slings for supporting the intermediate and distal phalanges. As shown, attached to a forefinger, the yoke or frame comprises a loop 34 engaging the back of the proximal phalanx and legs 33 in which are slots 39, 51 by which are adjustably attached the intermediate sling 37, engaging the back of the intermediate phalanx, and a front sling 45, engaging the front of the distal phalanx. The screws 41, 52 holding these slings extend through to the opposite leg of the yoke and between the legs, they carry tubular spacers. Preferably all the parts, except the screws, are made of a synthetic plastic material so that the parts can be readily moulded to shape and can be set into 'a rigid whole by the application of a solvent or cement at the junctions of the slings with the yoke. It also facilitates cutting off the superfluous length from the legs of the yoke after the splint has been set.
