[Class 132 (ii)] [Also in Group VI] An abdominal protector for sportsmen comprises a cupshaped metal plate 1 with strengthening ribs 2 which is covered back and front with a rubber mix or rubber latex mix coating and then vulcanized, a wool-filled leather cushion 6 being sewn by thread 8 passing through holes in the plate 1 around its periphery and straps 9 being also sewn in place. Alternatively a sponge-rubber cushion may be provided. Two examples of suitable mixes are described.
