Class 120(ii) [Also in Group XXXIV] In textile ring spinning and like spindle arrangements, a spindle mounting comprises in combination with a bearing tube, in which the blade is rotatably supported at the top in a journal bearing and at the bottom in a footstep bearing, a sleeve fitting on the bearing tube in the region of the spindle wharve, a rigid outwardly projecting flange on said sleeve, said sleeve being supported by said flange in the spindle bolster between resilient cushions permitting lateral oscillation within the bolster of the bearing tube and the rotating parts carried thereby. The wharve 10 and the spindle 11 are rotatably supported in a bearing tube 9 by, a roller bearing 12 and a footstep bearing 13. The tube 9 has pressed thereon a sleeve 8 formed with a flange 7 which fits within an annular recess 6, formed in the upper part 5 of the bolster. The flange 7 is clamped between resilient washers 6 and 16 by means of a screwed gland 17. Irregularities in the seating surfaces of the washers are compensated by a plurality of springs 20 or grubscrews (not shown), which bear on a metal washer 18. The bolster is secured to the rail 1 by a nut 4 which has affixed thereto an oil reservoir 22 which is preferably transparent. The spindle 11 is retained by a clip 24 and is provided with a brake 25 remotely operated in the manner described in Specification 680,664.
