A combined square, bevel square and gauge consists of a beam 10, with a blade 11 connected thereto at right angles and an arm 12 hinged to the blade 11 adjacent to the beam and clamped by screw bolt 16 in any desired angular position with respect to the blade 11, the arm 12 being slotted at 15, Fig. 3, and having tapered open ends 13, 14 between which the blade 11 is positioned with the bolt 16 passing through the arm near the open ends. The bolt 16 has a head 17, Fig. 3, countersunk in the arm and has a circular countersunk nut 18 provided with a thumbpiece 19. The blade 11 has calibration marks, each associated with a hole 20 through the blade. Alternatively the blade may be slotted for a length intermediate its ends with the longitudinal faces of the slot provided with serrations, the apices of which correspond with calibration marks and are arranged in line with the recesses in the opposite face.
