[Also in Group XXXIV] In a resilient bearing support, for a dynamic balancing machine, elastic means are arranged in different planes, preferably at right angles so that torsional oscillation or rotational movements of the bearing are resisted. As shown in Fig. 1, a,bearing bridge 4 is supported on vertical springs 5, which permit movement of a bearing 3 in a horizontal direction, and the bearing 3 is supported by horizontal springs 7 from a part 8 secured to the bridge 4 thus permitting movement .of the bearing in a vertical direction. A radially isotropic support arrangement is .provided if the elastic constant of the springs 5 and 7 is the same, but the constants may differ. The influence of the weight of the rotary member 1 may be removed by fitting an auxiliary spring 9 between the upper transverse spring 7 and the foot of the bracket 8. An auxiliary mass 17, Fig. 3, may be fitted as shown to balance the effective mass difference in the two planes. In a modification, Fig. 2, the bearing 3 is directly secured to the bridge 4, but the springs 5 are supported on levers 10 which are elastically secured to the foundation 6 by means of springs 11. The adjacent inner ends of the levers 10 are connected by a spring joint 12. A spring 13 compensates for the weight of the rotary member 1.
