In a quick-release coupling for a vehicle pipe line in which coupling members 17, 18 are carried by different vehicles and are secured by a yoke 25, a spring-loaded valve 41 in the member 18 has a stem 42 and head 43 projecting out of the member 18 and adapted to be engaged by a screw 55 carried by the yoke. The yoke is pivotally mounted on links 23 pivoted on the member 16 and has cam surfaces 31 which engage lugs 33 on the member 18. The yoke is connected, such as by a chain 37, to the vehicle frame, so that the coupling is automatically released if the vehicles separate. The screw engages a cam surface 43a to open the valve 41 as the yoke moves to the locking position. The valve may then also be manually actuated by the screw. A valve 48 in the member 17 is actuated by the valve 41. The effective area of valve 41 is less than that of the head 43 so that fluid pressure tends to close the valve.
